Day 09

Wu and Qutang Gorges
Contemplate the impressive height of the Gorges; here you can recognize the picture on the 10 yuan banknotes.

Tujia and their traditions
Disembark in Badong to join a local longboat (sampan) poled by Tujia boatmen.
Crystalline waters, verdant forests and stunning riverine gorges provide an incredible backdrop for this experience. It’s also interesting to see the Tujia boatmen are still wearing traditional handmade sandals to work on the boats.

After lunch, there will be a speech about the Three Gorges Dam Project.

Visit Three Gorges Dam and Exhibition Center
Discover the largest and most impressive world dam, the project started 1992 and it’s about to finish this year. Only for our guests, we will visit the Exhibition Center to see a dam model on a big scale.

Disembark at noon in Yichang.

Discover one of the most famous Chinese shows in the capital city. A classic show that keeps surprising its spectators.

Kungfu
Learn about the martial art popularized by Bruce Lee that still remains current nowadays. Have fun listening to the stories and admiring the dances and acrobatics performed by the actors. Specially recommended for children!

Beijing Opera
The Beijing Opera, founded in this same city, is the best-known oriental opera and counts on more than two centuries of history. It comprises the integral scenic art, merged with chant, recitation, performance, dance and martial arts.

Contact us if you want to include any of these services. Every service includes private transportation in addition to the tour guide and the tickets or the activity mentioned.

With the aim of offering the best price and promote the local economy, we have included a daily visit to a touristic interesting shop (buying is optional). These shops are interesting for adults and especially for children because they usually offer exhibitions about the different production processes with duration no longer than 20 minutes. If the client is not interested in this kind of visits, we can exclude them from the itinerary, but an extra cost will be applied to the final price.
